Where did your imagination take you when you read "Soul-Dare?" Perhaps you thought of a time in your life when you displayed great courage. Maybe, if you're a movie lover, you thought of the scene in "A Christmas Story" where Flick gets his tongue stuck to the ice-cold flag pole because he foolishly accepted the taunt of his friends who "triple dog dared" him to do it. Or maybe you're wondering what your life, your marriage, your ministry might look like if it only had a little more "dare" in it.
Webster defines the word "dare" as "imaginative courage or vivacious boldness." Soul-Dare Retreats are for ministry individuals who want to go from surviving to thriving. It takes courageous imagination and vivacious boldness to change. Something in your heart tells you it's time to believe God's promise and accept His challenge when He says, "Be strong and bold; have no fear or dread of them, because it is the Lord your God who goes with you; he will not fail you or forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6 (NRS)
Our passion is to come alongside you as an individual in ways that go beyond spiritual refreshment to offer coaching, spiritual guidance, and friendship.
As a ministry couple who has “been in the trenches,” our hearts desire is to build a lasting friendship with you. We listen to and enter into your story, facilitating and guiding you through a process designed to deepen your
intimacy with Christ.
During Summer 2019, the Soul-Dare retreats are conducted from the comfort of your home. Consider the time a stay-cation! This individual retreat is offered to women as a 3-month Coaching Experience with Sarah who provides an
initial spiritual guidance session followed with bi-weekly virtual coaching sessions.
There will be assigned reading and listening based upon the changes you determine are most important to you. Our prayer is that you will fully invest yourself in the materials and mentoring offered.
We (Dave and Sarah Hall) have been in full-time ministry since our marriage in May 1982. We served in pastoral ministry for 13 years and missions for 13 years, 8 of those years overseas. Following our return to the States, we had a mighty relational crash and burn for another eight years.
Along with our mix of 3 biological boys and two adopted black daughters came experiences of every kind of parental sorrow imaginable including a daughter with RAD (Reactive Attachment Disorder). And then, thankfully, we allowed Jesus to draw us into His arms and tip our faces to His. What a beautiful, healing journey it has been and now our joy is walking with others as they come to experience that same joy in their lives. Dave has a Masters in Divinity and is working toward a Masters in Counseling. Sarah is a Psychiatric Nurse and is working toward her undergrad degree in Counseling.
During Summer and Fall, 2019, Sarah will be offering Virtual Soul-Dare Retreats for women in ministry, while Dave is developing Soul-Dare Pilgrimage Walks (see below).
What's included in a Virtual Soul-Dare Retreat?:
- 2-hour virtual Spiritual Direction Assessment (either Skype or phone)
- Personally recommended reading list
- Six virtual coaching sessions (bi-weekly for 3 months)
- Total: $50/session or $275 Full pay
We are a faith-based ministry and are trusting Jesus to meet both our needs and those of Grace Adventure. If you desire to attend a Grace Adventure Soul-Dare Retreat but are facing financial hardship, please contact Sarah for assistance. There are scholarship funds available to those with a strong financial need.
Dave leaves Monday, June 17th to embark on an epic 900km Spiritual Pilgrimage across Spain called the Camino De Santiago (Way of St. James). His purpose is two-fold. He will use the pilgrimage as an opportunity to seek God for deeper intimacy with Jesus, Papa, and Holy Spirit, listening for the Lord's instruction for him personally and direction for Grace Adventure. Also, he will be assessing the viability of leading an annual Pilgrimage for men in ministry as a means of discipling and mentoring. For centuries people from every corner of the world have walked the Camino, with their destination being the Basilica in Santiago De Compostella, where the relics of St. James allegedly are entombed. Last year 300,000 people walked the Camino De Santiago. More info can be found at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camino_de_Santiago
While Dave is gone, Sarah is available to coach women leaders through virtual Soul-Dare Retreats. She will be embarking on her own very purposeful spiritual pilgrimage during the time Dave is gone, making progress in her online seminary courses, studying areas of interest, taking forays into nature and maybe even some sympathetic long "pilgrim" hikes or adventures.
